RN - Labor and Delivery

Moab Regional Hospital is hiring one full-time Intrapartum Nurse within the Labor and Delivery Department. Help families welcome their newest members in a safe and supportive environment. This position includes a full range of patient support, including community childbirth education courses (team taught) and providing lactation support and education to parents and staff at MRH. While the position is considered full-time, it is largely an on-call position with fifteen to eighteen (15-18) twelve hour call shifts per month (typically, three or four call shifts per week, including one or two weekends a month). The position also includes six to eight (6-8) weekly daytime hours working with the OB staff members for paperwork and other departmental needs. This position has a 45-minute required response time to the Hospital while on call. Orientation includes 6-12 months intensive training and professional development for individuals that are interested but lack significant labor and delivery experience. Once fully oriented, this position will primarily be on call for night shifts. This is a full-time, year-round, exempt position.  Pay range is $31-$39/hour DOE.

Job requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the State of Utah or compact state.
  • Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Certification. May obtain within 3 months of hire.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification. May obtain within 3 months of hire.
  • At least 1 year clinical RN experience.
  • Flexibility in scheduling and willingness to take call.
  • Ability to think and act independently in stressful situations.
  • Excellent communication skills, including oral, writing, and listening skills.
  • Proven record of building strong, professional relationships with patients and colleagues in medical setting.
  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, communicate, reach and manipulate objects regularly
  • Heavy physical exertion is a component; duties involve moving materials weighing 10-20 pounds continually and up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 50% of the work period
